NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING: All NYS Members Invited to Attend!

It's that time of year again! In accordance with the bylaws of AAUW-NYS, notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, via Zoom.

Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 9 AM - 12 PM
Location: Zoom

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

The purpose of the Annual Meeting is to conduct the official business of the organization, including the election of officers and any additional matters properly brought before the membership. All members are encouraged to attend as this is the only opportunity to vote in officer elections.

Membership Voting: One Member, One Vote

This Annual Meeting marks the first election conducted under the amended bylaws adopted last year. Under the revised bylaws, each individual member in good standing is entitled to one vote.

In prior years, voting was conducted through a delegate system. The bylaws change eliminated delegate voting and established direct voting by the full membership to promote broader participation and engagement in AAUW-NYS governance. All members in good standing as of the date specified in the bylaws are eligible to vote.

Candidates for Election

The following candidates have been duly nominated and are presented to the membership for election:

Public Policy, Vice President:

• Julie Kleszczewski

Distinguished Guest Speaker

Ladies' Day At The Capitol: New York's Women Legislators
Presenter: Lauren Kozakiewicz, PHD

What happened when women finally won the right to vote? Did they simply enter politics—or did they transform it?

Dr. Kozakiewicz is a distinguished scholar of American political history and an expert on the remarkable women who helped shape New York’s political landscape after the suffrage victory. Her research on the women who stepped into public life during the 19th and 20th centuries has appeared in numerous scholarly journals, and her groundbreaking book, Ladies Day at the Capitol: New York’s Women Legislators, 1919–1992, is the first to examine New York’s women legislators as a distinct political force.

Additional information regarding the meeting agenda, candidate statements (if applicable), and voting procedures will be distributed prior to the meeting.

We encourage all members to attend and participate in this important governance event.
