The Structure of AAUW

AAUW has activists in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. who exert significant influence over policy. Each state has a board that oversees that state's branches and helps to identify, track and assess current state legislation, and rally their branch network to support and oppose proposed bills.

AAUW offers lots of opportunities to get involved with a local community of activists. By joining at the branch level, you can serve in leadership roles, sponsor community action projects, and lobby on priority issues like pay equity and Title IX reform.
AAUW is a national community of more than 180,000 members, with hundreds of branches across the country and in all 50 states.
Both AAUW and AAUW-NYS are 501(c)(3) organizations. As a result, a portion or possibly all of your dues are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
